CORRUPTION AT RYERSON IS HIDDEN

THAT IS WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO EXPOSE THE CORRUPTION AT RYERSON UNIVERSITY

" The function of civil disobedience is to provoke a response without any violence. I will continue to provoke the institution, or the people in power that resisted me until they will respond and grant my requests. I will continue with this cause until they understand that they are not in control of this situation any more; "I am.""

CORRUPTION EXPOSED

  STATEMENT OF SID SENADHEERA

ABOUT  HIS  ILLEGITIMATE
REMOVAL FROM
RYERSON  UNIVERSITY
This is a description of my personal experience to illustrate what I believe is an injustice. Events led to the nonrenewal of my research scholarship [1] in a nanotechnology group at Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada. The reasons were, unjust and arbitrary. In addition, I believe they were, as charged by the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, discriminatory. Discriminatory on the grounds that Ryerson university did not offer me reasonable accommodation [2] as an individual afflicted with bipolar illness [3]. I requested change of work hours from 12pm to 8pm instead of 9am to 5pm, which was denied by my supervisor.
Just after the firing, to cover up many of the impulsive judgments made by the Dean and my supervisors at Ryerson, they organized emergency evacuation drills to make me appear violent and dangerous. They wanted to show that I will come in like the psychotic student at the Virginia Tech and use fire arms to retaliate. This was absolutely ludicrous to me as an individual that strongly  followed Gandhi and Thoreau’s non-violent philosophy in activism.
Before coming to Ryerson, I have been working in academic research for more than six years. In 2006 I became a successful researcher at Caltech (California Institute of Technology) and worked as a Staff Scientist [4] for their astrophysics group. Once, Albert Einstein, J. Robert Oppenheimer and Richard Feynman were members of this same elite research group that has the highest number of Physics Nobel Laureates in the world.
In 2008, to join my wife to be (from Singapore), the quickest practical approach was to sponsor her for permanent residency in Canada since I am a Canadian citizen [5]. While looking for a job in Canada, I met an Electrical Engineering Professor and he directed me to a Nanotechnology Professor in the Mechanical Engineering department at Ryerson University. I wrote my Ph.D. thesis [6], finished all coursework [7] and wrote closer to ten manuscripts as the first author [8]. That is in 1.5 years, before completing the residency period of two years. Only one of them was published.
Then my supervisor asked me to remove the Quantum Mechanics from the papers and the Ph.D. dissertation because he did not understand it and my co-supervisor did not understand it. My supervisor wanted a classical analysis, since he is a Mechanical Engineer who had not studied Quantum Mechanics deeply enough to understand my work.
I perceived this situation as blatant injustice against me by my supervisors Dr. Krishnan Venkatakrishnan and his wife Dr. Bo Tan. I sent several email messages to convince the department that in a physical problem that arises through quantum mechanical phenomena (such as LS coupling, quantum tunneling etc.) there are no parallel explanations given by classical physics [9]. This Professor prohibited me from introducing my progressive thinking to anybody in his research group. When students came to me for help, I was criticized for giving it. A postdoctoral scholar in the group once said “it is impossible to move a brick in Nanotechnology without quantum mechanics.”
I had a full Scholarship from Ryerson University. I noticed in Fall 2009 it has not been renewed. On 26th of Sept. 2009 two police officers came to my home. They were very courteous. They said I was fired from the Ryerson research program. I asked why? They told me that the Dean said I "falsified (by omitting) information" on my application. Following month the Dean, Professor Maurice Yeates and the Registrar of Graduate Studies, Ms. Cathy Faye accused me of academic misconduct for not mentioning I had studied astrophysics in the Ryerson application. I have studied Fine Arts as well at a well known private Institute in Chicago, which I did not mention in the application. I studied astrophysics [10] from 2000 -2002, while my application to Ryerson began from 2003. Still it had no relation at all to the Nanotechnology program to which I was applying similar to the Fine Arts education.
I asked, how I could be fired for being modest about my qualifications? I could understand being fired for exaggerating my qualifications. The Dean and my Supervisor knew I was in astrophysics by May/2008 since I told them when it was appropriate. Why did I get fired all of a sudden in Sept./2009? Some of the facts underlying this firing had a lot to do with Quantum Mechanics as well. It is impossible to carry out an indepth study of nanotechnology without quantum mechanics, which is one of the most essential theoretical tools. I put my supervisors in a very uneasy situation by exposing a weakness. The same theoretical work that made much controversy with my supervisor and enabled him to justify my firing in Chapters 7 and 8 of the PhD thesis [6] are being published in a book - "Perspectives of Engineering Physics"  by ACME learning Publishers, New Delhi, India by two Physics Professors.
The Toronto Police took me handcuffed for questioning. The first thing the Detective asked me during the interrogation process was, "Your Dean said you tried to brainwash thousands of students. How do you respond to that?" They issued a court order saying I could not go anywhere near Ryerson University and could not talk to any students or Faculty. This case is now being addressed by the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario with Ryerson University named as the respondent.
